"Of course!" you'll say. "I've heard that all my life! How could I not know that?"
Unless you have experienced God's love for you and kept it in the front of your mind ever since.
This seems like a pretty abrasive beginning to today's blog haha, and for that I apologize. But I only begin that way because as I was reading I was struck by how little I appreciate and recognize the Father's immense love for me. I'm writing first of all to myself.
"Your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
"From all their distress God rescues the just."
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears."
"Look to him that you may be radiant with joy."
God is such a good, good Father! And yet how easy is it to forget that?
Especially in February. A wise priest friend of mine once said, "Never make decisions in February." February is like the annual dark night of the soul. The days are still too short. The weather is still too cold. No end is in sight.
Today's spring weather is like a salve on my soul. God's goodness is shining down upon me in these rays of warm(ish) sunshine and I remember what I've forgotten these last 3 weeks of the worst month of the year.
It's with this love in mind that Jesus calls us to pray the Lord's prayer. How do the words change when you're fully aware of His immense love?
